Geitrams 2 ply, 50/100g, (Fireweed)
Geitrams is white lambswool from Vestvågøy in Lofoten dyed with cochineal. Crossbred wool of Norwegian White Sheep.
Here on the island, we have a bunch of discerning sheep farmers who are skilled in their breeding work, and wool quality is in the focus. This is soft, luxurious first-class lamb's wool.
We heat the wool in a hot dye bath containing cochenille; a process done by hand in our color kitchen on the farm. We have maximum 26 skeins per dye batch, and all the skeins are marked with batch number. We always send colors from the same dyelot per order.
We want you to be aware that the lighter the yarn, the less lightfast it is. This means that it can withstand less direct sunlight and can fade over time if exposed to too much light.
Same thickness as 2-ply Sandgrunn, 4 Favner, 10 Favner, Brådjupt, Steingrunn, Røsslyng, Vinterhimmel, Rød lunde, Rust, Gress and Gul lunde.
You should knit a sample, wash and dry it and then measure/calculate the number of stitches/needle thickness before larger projects.
We sell both full 100g skeins and half 50g skeins.
