Geitrams 2 ply, 50/100g, (Fireweed)
Plant dyed white wool from Røst, one of the remotest islands in the Lofoten archipelago. Here the sheep live outside virtually all year round, often on the islets around Røstlandet itself. The sheep eat a lot of seaweed and kelp, and the wind blows salt into the wool. These special conditions result in beautifully white, soft wool.
We heat the wool in a hot dye bath containing cochenille; a process done by hand in our color kitchen on the farm. We have about 13 skeins per dye batch, and all the skeins are marked with batch number. Be sure to get the same number if you want the same shade.
