Soap of sheep fat: Seaweed
Our soaps are made from the tallow that accumulates around the kidneys of our sheep. To get a soap that both foams, nourishes the skin and is hard enough not to melt in a spill, we have used a combination of coconut fat and olive oil: these three in carefully measured combination with liquid (clean water) that is boiled together with seaweed pieces (picked locally) or their infusion are the ingredients.
Coconut and olive oil are not organic: when making soap, lye is also used, and any special properties of exclusive raw materials "disappear" in the saponification process.
Our soap is mostly used for hand washing and leaves the skin feeling soft, nourished and hydrated after washing. If you keep the soap dry between each use, place it on a nail brush for example, then it will last a long time.
The batches vary from year to year and it is not always possible to see the pieces. The shape can also vary from square to triangle.
